Donate to Indonesia Tsunami | India Flooding

Over the past month the world has been witness to immense sufferings as a consequence of natural disasters:

• Sulawesi, Indonesia. On Sep. 28, a 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck Palu, Sulawesi, Indonesia. The resulting tsunami produced waves 6 meters high and caused untold devastation. Over 2000 people are confirmed dead and survivors are struggling to find food and drinkable water.
• Kerala, India.  The worst flooding in a century hit Kerala, India in August 2018 and has caused catastrophic landslides and floods, leading to 491 deaths. One hundred operational relief camps have been established to accommodate families from the over 23,600 homes which have been either partially or fully damaged.

​Caritas organizations and Development and Peace, Canada’s official member, are responding to these situations by providing food, clean drinking water, shelter and medical support. As the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) is still engaged in a review of Development and Peace’s projects in the Global South, funds collected in aid of Kerala and Indonesia will be designated for specific disaster relief.  The Diocese is accepting donations:
