Parish Staff
Resources Page

In light of the reintroduction of the public celebration of Holy Mass as early as June 1, 2020 in all the Latin Rite Dioceses in Alberta, the Diocese is compelled to provide clergy, parish staff and volunteers with as much resources as possible to support them in this major undertaking. It is important for clergy and staff to recognize that the safety of everyone is imperative and that there may be a need to scale back on what is being offered especially in the early phases in order to assure that the guidelines are observed for the dignity of the holy liturgy and the wellbeing of all people.

For further assistance and guidance, please contact Fr. Wilbert Chin Jon at 403-218-5529 or Wilbert.ChinJon@calgarydiocese.ca.

What's New?

  • Memorandum: Altar of Repose - Holy Thursday (March 19)
  • CCCB Statement on ethical concerns related to currently approved COVID-19 vaccines (March 9, 2021)
  • Memorandum: Resumption of in-person faith-based classes and meetings (Feb 11)
  • Memorandum: Celebration of Sacrament of Confirmation in 2021 (Feb. 3)
  • Reminder: Singing continues to be limited to the following: Entrance, Preparation of the Gifts & Communion. The wearing of a mask is required for all singing by the cantor in the celebration of Holy Mass, even for a solo cantor distanced from the congregation.
  • Announce at each Mass:
    • “The Diocese of Calgary strongly recommends to the faithful to, as much as possible, continue to wear the mask while seated in the pews during the Mass. This will help better protect one another in preventing the transmission of the flu and COVID-19. However, exemptions under the municipal bylaws will continue to be respected without requiring proof of eligibility. This gesture of wearing the mask is a sign of charity and concern for each other’s health. Please see the new poster in the church which highlights a number of health and safety measures to help prevent the spread of the flu and COVID-19. Thank you for your cooperation.”
  • Liturgical Guideline Update (Sep. 25) - re: liturgical singing
    • During the celebration of mass, singing by one cantor is now permitted. The singing at Mass by choirs or groups is not allowed. For more details, please refer to the Liturgical Guideline Update (Sep. 25) - re: liturgical singing
