  • Sanctum Retreat Centre - Monday to Friday, May 20-24, 2024

“Lift Up Your Hearts” will include reflections on and about priestly ministry based on the gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola and the spirituality of the Canadian Martyrs.

Retreat begins on Monday at 6:30 pm with dinner and will end on the Friday with breakfast. You will need to bring your alb, stole, and breviary.

COST: $400.00. Please have your parish issue the cheque payable to the retreat centre you have registered with. 
  • Please bring the parish cheque with you, do not mail it in. 
  • No-show registrants will still be charged the full amount.​

  • DIOCESAN PRIESTS:
    Please be reminded of the Diocesan Policy (applicable to Diocesan Priests only); that you are required to attend an Annual Diocesan Retreat. To attend an annual retreat elsewhere requires the permission of the Bishop and notification to the Chancellor as to the date and place of such a retreat.
  • RETIRED DIOCESAN PRIESTS AND PRIESTS NOT IN PARISH MINISTRY:
    If registering for one of the retreats, please indicate on the form so that the cheque may be issued for your registration.
  • RELIGIOUS PRIESTS:
    ​Priests who are members of Religious Communities are also welcome to take advantage of these retreats. The Order is responsible for the registration fee of retired religious priests.

Archbishop Terrence Prendergast, SJ
Emeritus Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall

Terrence Prendergast was born in Montreal in 1944, entered the Jesuits in 1961, and was ordained a priest in 1972. After teaching Scripture in Halifax (Atlantic School of Theology) and Toronto (Regis College) where he also engaged in Priestly Formation, Pope John Paul II appointed him Auxiliary Bishop of Toronto in 1995. Subsequently, he served in Nova Scotia and Ontario as Archbishop or Apostolic Administrator of Halifax, Yarmouth, Ottawa, Alexandria-Cornwall, Ottawa-Cornwall, and Hearst-Moosonee. His association with Western Canada included a year as Visiting Professor at Campion College, Regina (1988-89) and summer sessions at Vancouver School of Theology and Newman Theological College. Since the fall of 2022, he resides in the Ottawa Jesuit Community and engages in a variety of pastoral ministries.
