Where Hope Finds a Home: Elizabeth House 2025

Elizabeth House provides safe, stable housing and 24/7 wraparound care for pregnant women, mothers, and their children facing complex challenges. Through basic needs, perinatal care, parenting support, counselling, mentorship, legal and medical referrals, and foundational literacy support, women are accompanied as they build stability, confidence, and hope for the future.

In 2025, 113 pregnant women and mothers reached out to Elizabeth House seeking safe housing and support. Due to limited capacity, only 5% of applicants could be accepted, reflecting the growing need for safe housing and long-term accompaniment for vulnerable mothers and children.

As families arrive with increasingly complex needs, Elizabeth House continues to provide longer-term, multi-level support through advocacy, system navigation, one-on-one mentorship, coaching, and high-intensity solution-focused care.

• Access to basic needs and daily living support
• Perinatal care and health care referrals
• Parenting support and life skills development
• Counselling and emotional wellness
• Peer support and mentorship
• Legal, medical, and community referrals
• Foundational literacy and education support​

The impact of this support is reflected in the experiences of the women who call Elizabeth House home. One resident shared:

I remember when I just moved in, I was from a stranded situation on the verge of giving up but they came to my rescue. I was going through depression but with their help, from volunteers with childcare, counselling therapy, and a peaceful environment I was able to bounce back to my feet."

Support continues beyond a family's stay through the Women's Empowerment Committee, a participant-driven initiative created by Elizabeth House alumni. The committee fosters mentorship, community-building, knowledge sharing, and emotional support.

This thriving group empowers women to lead, encourage one another, and create lasting connections, proving that hope grows stronger when women walk together.

Elizabeth House continues to be more than a place to stay.

It is a community where mothers and children receive practical support, build meaningful relationships, and are accompanied as they work toward greater stability. It is a community made possible by your prayers, volunteer service, and financial support.
